"I'm a PC, and Windows 7 was my idea." Such is the nature of the current incarnation of Microsoft Windows, the incarnation we know as Windows 7. For a time, I was content with using the previous incarnation of the OS, known far and wide as Windows Vista. But later on, in comes this new version that has become accepted far and wide as a relevant OS, just like the predecessor before that and the predecessor before that and the predecessor before that. There is something about Microsoft Windows that makes you say: this is what computing is all about.
That being said, I like the tool that you brought out here on deviantART. Now users will get to customize their own start orbs and have fun with it. I can't wait to use this baby. Five stars across. This was badly due.
Hmm, that did not work. I guess my Windows 7 install is so screwed up after all of the tweaking and stuff i did over the last two years that it just can't take anymore. at least the start orb i'm stuck with is a good one.
However, i do have a few registry backups, they were made back when Start Orb changer worked for me, i'll load one of those and see if that fixes the issue. i will let you know of it works.
Sorry you had to go through all that. The downloads are powered by an installer that offers additional apps which get installed if you click "Accept". I have no control over which apps are offered. The apps are not always malware as stated by the antivirus, most antiviruses flag them as PUP (potentially unwanted program) just because users don't like it. There's nothing installed without your permission, clicking "Decline" wouldn't have installed them.
there is no direct download link buddy, so stop fobbing ppl off with lies, if you want to help just post a direct link to the exe file instead of a link to bloatware crap and a useless download manager
Well, this program has been on the internet since Feb 2010. The app itself doesn't have any malicious code. When you download the app and run the installer, you'll get offers to install 3rd party apps. This is why some antiviruses block the installer. If you don't want to install offers, that's completely okay and nothing extra will be installed in your computer. I also provide a "Direct Download" link, which will download just the app, without the installer.
I know the app doesn't work for many people but I would have fixed it already if I knew the reason.
Malware beware! Do not download this, i just went through 30 minutes of dealing with the crap it installed on my pc. I should've known better. heres a list of shit it comes with: Sweet page, windows protect manager, security protect.. wtf?! Screw you op and screw your program!
this seriously fucked my pc up, im sorry dude but i have to tell you that this completely rendered my pc useless, i had to restore my pc because after i applied it, all i would get is a blank screen with nothing on it, even tried booting in safe mode and the pc was still fucked
I'm sorry about that. The apps were optional, clicking Accept in the installer installed them. You can easily remove the apps from Programs and Features in Control Panel. If you provide more info on what isn't working/what error messages are you receiving, I will be able to assist you further.
The crapware-laden installer was a shitty move, Kishan. Why?
"Nowadays, it’s almost impossible to download any kind of free software without the installer trying to sneak some other piece of junk on to your system. Installers have become almost a puzzle game within themselves, in which the user tries to figure out the consequences of pressing a button."
I don't have a good feeling in general about this, wished the experience was better but I'm doing it for the same reason as mentioned in that article. If there was a better way to monetize free software, I'd definitely choose that over this.
