"I'm a PC, and Windows 7 was my idea." Such is the nature of the current incarnation of Microsoft Windows, the incarnation we know as Windows 7. For a time, I was content with using the previous incarnation of the OS, known far and wide as Windows Vista. But later on, in comes this new version that has become accepted far and wide as a relevant OS, just like the predecessor before that and the predecessor before that and the predecessor before that. There is something about Microsoft Windows that makes you say: this is what computing is all about.
That being said, I like the tool that you brought out here on deviantART. Now users will get to customize their own start orbs and have fun with it. I can't wait to use this baby. Five stars across. This was badly due.
I have recently been getting a 'stopped working' error when trying to start this. I've tried running sfc /scannow, registry cleaning and uninstalled MacType but it still won't work. 64bit win7, started happening a few weeks ago. There's someone else having the same problem in the comments section on the download site as well it seems like.
Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure if MacType has anything to do with it, it's just the only thing I could think of that might interfere in some way.
Reinstalling the fonts didn't help either.
I also get a 'stopped working' error when trying to use StartOrbz, and if I try replacing the orb with an older version of your program it works at first, but I get a bunch of 'failed updating bitmap' errors when rebooting.
Might also be worth mentioning that even after repairing system files several times I still have the orb I last used your program for, rather than the default orb. The default orb only appears if I restart explorer.
No, but i did install MacType, which is a improved font renderer for Windows, i uninstalled it recently. Could that have caused the error? Come to think of it, it did seem like after i installed MacType StartOrb Changer stopped working, but i just thought it was a coincidence...
